Introduction
to Fascial Anatomy Instructor: Jim Pirri7 Hours $96 Course
description: Students will develop a
greater understanding of the structure and function of myofascial connective
tissue through this multi-leveled, fun and interesting class, preparing them
for either the Deep Tissue or Focus on Fascia (Myofascial Release) tracks. Students get to watch
Lesson #1 on Sean Reihl’s Beginning Myofascial Release video and practice
self-fascial movement techniques.
This is a dynamic video and describes our beginnings as pure fascial
entities. This class will also
include basic breath work and a feel for organic movement. Students will incorporate
experiential learning of the energy of the fascial matrix through Listening
Touch and Walking Fascia exercises.
There will be a fun
slide presentation (with handouts) and other visual aids, to assist in a
greater understanding of how the fascia system functions. The class will include
Partners Fascial Stretching for a deeper awareness of finding the barrier of
the fascia. There will be group
body readings to determine each person’s fascial restrictions. These are fascinating tools to
determine where someone’s true problems originate. Students will receive a
practical handout on the similarities and differences of the forms of
structural bodywork offered by this school. There will be a demonstration
of both a deep tissue and myofascial release technique on the shoulder, so
students can see first-hand, how each modality can benefit their clients. If time allows, students will be able to end this class learning some self-releasing techniques for their own fascia. This
