description: This course is designed to teach massage
therapists the ethical guidelines and standards of their profession.
This class will cover our responsibility for the comfort and safety of
our clients, how to understand their needs and rights, and more. There will
be an overview of the requirements for the national exam including
terminology and core principles. It will consist of lecture as well as
role play exercises for the students to engage with one another. Required

Understanding Emotional Release Instructor: Heather White
15 hours $200 Course description: This class will provide students with a
step-by-step guide to understanding emotional release, beginning with the
connections of mind and body and how we store emotions in our tissues. Students will learn about emotional
holding patterns and how they contribute to our current day physical issues. Students will learn how to create a
safe environment for their clients and how to recognize emotions as they
begin to come to the surface.
Students will learn how to allow their clients freedom to release
emotions fully, and the various ways our clients actually do release their
emotions. There will be
discussion of handling vs. processing psychological material, how not to go
“trauma hunting”, grounding exercises, empathy distress, somatic
memory/psychological awareness, body memories and flashbacks, and when to
refer to a mental health professional.
This class will include some hands-on exercises, so students need to
bring a set of sheets to class. Suggested text:

Heather White 4 hours $57 Course description: Boundary issues between therapist and client are
especially sensitive, and often require clients to make unusual boundary
adjustments. This class will
address five types of boundaries: physical, emotional, intellectual, sexual
and energetic; and teach the students when to decide which boundary model to
use: permeable, semi-permeable and rigid. Students will get to present case histories and receive
input from their classmates and instructor for discussion. Suggested

description: Traumatic experiences
can have profound effects on our bodies, minds, emotions and spirit. It is vitally important that
therapists learn to create a safe environment for their clients, one that
does not lead to re-traumatization.
In this class, students will explore the physiology of trauma and the
somatic symptoms therapists may encounter with their clients as well as
ethical approaches to work with traumatized clients. Various forms of trauma and abuse
will be discussed, including sexual, physical, emotional and cult mind

Understanding Mental Health Conditions Instructor: Heather White 8 hours $109 Course description: This class focuses on understanding mental health
conditions and disorders so that the massage therapist may be able to
identify signs, know proper scope of practice, and know when to refer the
client to a mental health professional.
This knowledge will also assist the therapist in conversing and
working in partnership with mental health professionals. Topics covered in this class will be
phobias, anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, addictions and abuse,
eating disorders, depression, bipolar, sexual or physical abuse. Suggested text:

Sex, Touch and Intimacy Instructor: Heather White 8 hours $109 Course description: Clear boundaries around sex, touch and intimacy
create the foundation for safety and trust which is the basis for all healing
therapies. This class will
examine cultural and personal beliefs about sex, touch and intimacy, and how
these may relate to both the clients and practitioners experience during an
actual session. Students will
learn how to recognize phrases that clients use to refer to sexual massage,
and learn how to educate their clients in the process. Suggested
