Polarity Practitioner Modules

Instructors Cami Walsh Zappaterra, Mauro W. Zappaterra

Polarity Therapy is a holistic health care system that works with the Human Energy Field. Polarity asserts that energy fields and currents exist everywhere in nature. Health is an ongoing and dynamic balance of life energy that flows through our minds, bodies, emotions and spirits.

Polarity Therapy as a healing art brings awareness to energy principles. It teaches students a variety of therapeutic techniques to work with the Human Energy Field. These methods powerfully aid in harmonizing the inherent energy fields and currents in the practitioner and client, bringing a sense of balance, potency and often a deeper self-knowing.

Polarity Therapy was developed by Dr. Randolph Stone (1890-1981), a pioneer in holistic health care. Dr. Stone held degrees in osteopathic, naturopathic, and chiropractic medicine. He studied and tested health theories from around the world for over sixty years, successfully combining ancient and modern theories and techniques. Dr. Stone taught that body, emotions, mind and spirit are interdependent that each person is responsible for his or her own health and those simple steps can be taken to improve wellness and self-knowledge.

Dr. Stone further specified that the effect of Polarity Therapy can be illuminating and clarifying not only by students and practitioners of the healing arts, but also by many truth seekers from every type of background who are seeking to explore the mysteries and meaning of human life.

The Polarity Practitioner (155-hr) module track focuses on the basics of Polarity Therapy as founded by Dr. Randolph Stone and approved by the American Polarity Therapy Association. Students will learn the principles of Polarity therapeutic touch, energetic nutrition, Polarity postures and yoga, as well as communication and counseling. After completion, students are eligible to receive certification from APTA to practice Polarity Therapy. Graduates can follow many paths including starting their own holistic practices, continuing their education in advanced Polarity Therapy studies – Registered Polarity Practitioner (RPP) – and integrating Polarity Therapy into their existing practices.

Our Polarity Track involves regularly scheduled weekend classes and clinical sessions. All of our classes are taught by Registered Polarity Practitioners who have been trained by APTA standards. HHI is registered with the American Polarity Therapy Association.

NOTE:  To practice Polarity Therapy, any  form of Energy Healing, Reflexology or Aromatherapy you need a license to touch. If you don’t already have a license to touch, we suggest that you take our MT300 Massage Therapy Program.  MT300 plus an additional 200 hours of electives will allow you to apply to the CAMTC for State Certification which is a license to touch.  Most students that have done this have fallen in love with Swedish massage and have another avenue of helping their clients.

Our Polarity Practitioner Module Track is 20 Saturday classes in length offered one Saturday a month. Classes start on January 31, 2015 and run one Saturday a month, except for holidays, through the completion of the course. The classes are 7 hours is length each from 10am to 5pm with a 60-minute lunch. They are numbered Module 1 to 20.

Polarity Sessions Given:
Each student is required to give a minimum total of 30 one-hour Polarity sessions. Of these sessions, 10 will involve the same client. Tracking forms will be supplied on the first day of class. All sessions must be completed within 3-months after the last day of class.
Polarity Sessions are the student’s responsibility and are generally done outside of class. HHI occasionally schedules a clinic that students can volunteer for at the school. Some good places to volunteer would be programs for the elderly, retirement centers, hospitals, nursing homes, etc. These are voluntary and do earn credit as clinical sessions.  You can use our Bridging the Gap – Community Contribution elective to get 20 hours additional continuing education units.

Personal Polarity Sessions Received:
Each student is required to receive a minimum of 5 Polarity sessions from a Registered Polarity Practitioner (RPP). Of these sessions, 3 are to be with the same practitioner. The additional 2 are with different practitioners. Tracking forms will be supplied on the first day of class. Please have the practitioner sign the form. Sessions must be completed within 3 months after the last day of class.
Supplies and Equipment: Our classroom supplies a comfortable place to learn and practice including chairs, pillows, blankets and Energetic Touch tables and bolsters.

Required Material::
• Notebooks and pens
• Textbooks
• Water and spill proof bottle
• Any special seating needs
• Any special food or snacks needs
